Davis, Brophy, Lindsay, Lothrop, Teer, and Superin- tendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Following Granolithie Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file: Margaret Reed - 138 Bancroft Ave. Herman York 164:Salem St. Following Granite Curb applications received, approved and placed on file. Margaret Reed - 138 Bancroft Ave. Voted to pay $2.00 per hour plus cost of dynamite and caps to persons doing blasting for the Department. , Voted to pay bill of $77.85 for special composition in- cluded in Annual Report for 1940. Received letter from Seldetmen relative to possibilities of operating a W. P. A. sidewalk project. Matter taken under advisement pending further information. At 8:00 P. M. Public Bids were received and opened covering proposals for 3/4 Yd, Power Shovel. Attached hereto are copies of bids which herewith become a part of these records. Hearing at 8:30 P, M. on several proposed underground con- duit locations on Main St, for New England Tel. & Tel. Co. a I 118 ' Following persons present: Mr, Charles Trevor. representing New Eng, Tel. &, Tel . Co, Locations granted. Voted to increase the salary of the Superintendent $200.00 per year. Received request from Glenn Bigelow to lease land at garage on John St, for a- period of one year for the purpose of erecting a small building for residential purposes. Voted not to lease land as above.
