Davis, Putnam, Brophy, "indsay, Williamson and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Hearing at 8:00 P. M. under the Board of Survey on the approval of lines and grades for County Rd. from Howard St, to West St. Following persons present: Frank Merrill representing Ruth E. Mathews - In favor . Edna Farr - In favor Merle Farr - In favor G.W.Cochrane, Jr. - Opposed Emmeline Sewell, representing Abe J. Huse - Opposed. Letters received from Abbe J. Huse and Erna F. Van Stone in which both are opposed. Van Stone in which both are opposed to the acceptance. lI � March Town Meeting �1 Middlesex, es. 1941Town of Reading REPORT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ON THE LAYING OUT OF WESCROFT ROAD The Board of Public Works of the Town of Reeding having deter- mined and adjudged that common convenience and necessity require the laying out of a town way under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments , substantially in the location hereinafter de- scribed, having complied with all requirements of law relating to notice to the owners of land thereof and of a hearing thereon, and having met at the time and place appointed for such hearing and then and there heard all persons present who desired to be heard, have laid out as a town way for the use of the town running in a Southwesterly direction from West Street , slightly north of Woburn Street , to County Road, substantially as and in the location of the private way known as Weecroft Road, the boundaries and measurements of said way as so laid out are as follows: Beginning at a point in the Westerly side line of West Street , said point being N. 130 - 15 ' - 40" W. , measured along said Westerly side line of West Street a distance of 59.31 feet from a Stone Bound set at the Northerly terminus of a curved line having a radius of 257.64 feet and a length of 75.71 feet ; Thence by a curved line to the Left , having a radius of 20.0 feet , by lands of George P. McSheehy and George W. Page, Trustees of the Wescroft Developing Trust , a length of 34.23 feet to a point of tangent; Thence S. 650 - 32 ' - 40" W. , still by said Trustees ' land, by lands of William A. The above described lines being more fully shown on a Plan entitled "Wescroft Road, Reading, Mass." , dated February 1941, Board of Public Works , Philip Welch, Superintendent , said Plan being a part of this description. We determine that no damages will be sustained by any person or persons in their property by reason of the taking to be made for this improvement. St. Hearing at 8:30 P.M. for pole locations on Hampshire Rd. at Main St. and Summer Ave. at Knollwood Rd. No one present. _ Locations granted. Hearing at 8:45 P.M. on the proposed widening and relocating of street lines at the intersection of Highland St. and Bancroft Ave. Following persons present: Mr. Vernon Sillars. Mr. Sillars will agree to relocation on the following basis: 1. He is to be awarded damages in the amount of Fifty[050.00) Dollars. 2. The present lilac hedge is to be removed and replaced with a double privet hedge. 3. All filling from relocation is to be dumped in a low spot on Sillars property, spread and covered with loam. Voted to approve agreement and to recommend that Town make the proposed taking on the basis of the above agreement. Ind. for sewer construction on Sunnyside Ave. This abatement rep- resents 45 feet of frontage. This abatement is given in return for four easements given to the Town by the Reading Greenhouse, Inc. in the past. It was voted to record Board as being in favor of the recom- mendation which the Drainage Committee will make to the Town. Received letter from Reading Grange inviting Board to attend their meeting on February 26, 19111 at 9:00 P. M. at which the Town Warrant will be discussed. Signed committment for 1940 Granolithic Sidewalk Betterment Assessments.
