HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-02-17 Board of Public Works Minutes 103 Reading, S4ass„ February 17, 1941 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at ' 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Davis, Putnam, Brophy, Lindsay, Williamson and Super intendant Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Letter received from County Commissioners stating that they would be agreeable to splitting the 19141 Chapter 90 allotment of $7$00.00 as proposed by the Board. Voted permit to the Sea Scouts of Reading to play hockey on the Birch Meadow Rink, Sunday Afternoon, February 239 1941, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. Hearing at 7:4$ P. M. on the acceptance as a public way of WesAroft Road from West St, to County Road. Following persons present: William A, Welch - In favor Jo Mrs. Lee hnson - Lee Johnson - George Page - George McSheehy - Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way of the above described road. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on the acceptance as a public way of Coolidge Road from Wescroft Road to a point 40 ft. north of the Northerly side line of Springvale Road. Following persons present: Mrs, E. M. Dunton - In favor Mrs . N.H.Thompson - " 11N. H. Thompson - " " George Page - if it George McSheehy - it 104 Received letter from Mrs. Harold Swanson stating she is in favor of the acceptance. Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way of the above described road. Hearing at 8:15 P.M- on the acceptance as a public way of Springvale Road from Coolidge Road to Overlook Road Following persons present: George Page - In favor George McSheehy - s it Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way of the above described road. Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on the acceptance as a public way of West Hill Circle from ldest St, to West St, as a semi-circle. Following persons present: Harvey Kelch - In favor Edward Strunk - ° It Mrs. Edward Strunk- " it Mr. Kelch filed letter stating that Mr, Wn. H. Kelch will assume the assessments of lots A-1 & A-2 resulting from the acceptance, if made. Mr. Kelch filed letter stating that Mr. Wm. H. Kelch will do all earth excavation, all ledge excavation and furnish all ordinary borrow necessary for the construction of the above described road. Voted to recommend to the Town the acceptance as a public way of the above described road. Hearing at SAES P.M. on the relocation of poles at the corner of Pearl St, and Charles St. 105 Pole 13/15 to be relocated 28 £t, northeasterly on westerly side of Charles St, Pole 13/16 to be relocated on the easterly side of Charles St, opposite it' s present location, Locations granted, Signed lot layout for the proposed residential de- velopment at the southwest corner of Forest St, & Main St, commonly ]mown as Dnerson Park, Mr, George Durgin & Mr, Louis Dean to see Board in regard to the regrading of the ditch which crosses their properties on North Pearl Street, Board will investigate, Signed Board of Public Works plan showing the location of Wescroft Road which is to be recommended to the Town for accept- ance as a public Way, Signed Board of Public Works plan showing the location of that portion of Coolidge Road which is to be recormwnded to Town for acceptance as a public way, Signed Board of Public Works plan showing the location of Springvale Road which is to be recommended to the Town for accept- ance as a public way, Signed Board of Public Works plan showing the location of West Rill Circle which is to be recommended to the Town for accept- ance as a public way. Signed report of the Board of Public Works on the laying out Of Wescroft Road, a copy of which is attached hereto and here- with becomes a part of these records, , 106 Signed report of the Board of Public Works on the laying out of Coolidge Road, a copy of which is attached hereto and herewith becomes a part of these records.
