HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-08-05 Board of Public Works Minutes 63 Reading, Mass., August 5, 1940 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at , 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Putnam, Brophy, Lindsay and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Mr. Essman of 124 Hopkins Street to see Board in regard to excavation for sidewalk in front of, his property at corner of Fairmount Road. Board voted to excavate sidewalk and slope the bank on his property providing he gives Department a slope easement. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on Sewer Extension in Elm Street from Eaton St. 400 ft. Westerly. Following persons present: Mrs. Frances Walsh - In favor ' Thomas Walsh - In favor Board voted to make extension as per the plan on record. Voted permit to Wendell Bancroft Co, to reconstruct wAighing scales on Washington St. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file: Myra K. Parker - 104 Salem St. - Salem St. Frontage George Woodman - 115 Bancroft Ave. Following Granite Curb applications received, approved and placed on Pile G. Burton Long - 41 Longview Road Voted to pay Harold Davis his pay for the three weeks he is at Camp with the National Guard. ' 64 ' Received petition from property owners on Causeway Road requesting extension of water main. - Voted to make extension when money is available. Signed easement for water main on Line Road and Track Road. Mr. Sears, Mr. Greeley, Mrs. Sears, Mrs. LeFave to see Board in regard to building wall in front of Mr. Searspropertyon Chestnut Road. - Board to visit location. Board adjourned 8:45 P.M.
