Davis, Putnam, Brophy, Williamson and Superin- tendent Welch were present, - Records of previous meeting read and approved. Voted permit to Catholic Youth Organization to play base- ball on Washington St. Park on Sundeay afternoon, July 7, 1940 . Voted permit to Reading Town Team to play baseball on Washington St. Park on Sunday afternoon, July 14, 1940, Voted to hold hearing on change of grade on Charles St. from Main St, to Haverhill St, on July 8, 1940 at 8:00 P.M. Received letter from State Dept, of Public Health suggest- ing precautions to be , taken to protect the water supply of Reading and the power supply against sabotage. Also to make all necessary arrangements for supplying emergency water supplies, power and purifying equipment. Received letter from County Commissioners relative to hearing on Chapter 90 program for 1940 and 1941. Hearing is to be held on July 15, 1940, at 2:30 P.M. at the Office of The Bounty Commissioners. Board recessed at 8:30 P.M. to attend meeting of Special Draingge Committee. Board reconvened at 9:30 e.M. Received report from Wm. Miller containing names and addresses of persons who have been observed dumping rubbish in forbidden locations. Voted to purchase an Adams Model 303 Power Grader from Tractors Inc.at the bid price of $4400.00,including extras as per the Depratment specificatimns.
