HomeMy WebLinkAbout1940-03-22 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. , March 22, 1940. , The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Putnam, Brophy, Lindsay, Williamson and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. . Mr. Tanner and Mr. Duncan, members of School Department and Mr. Grover, Superintendent of Schools, to see Board in regard the con- struction of sidewalks in certain sections of Town to effect a reduction in the coat of school buses. Board voted to build gravel sidewalk on Salem St. from Winter Street to Bay State Avenue on North side as early in spring as possible. Received letter from Doc Fowls thanking Board for flowers sent to funeral of his father. Received letter from Board of Public Welfare accepting invitation toattend joint meeting on March 29, 1940. Voted to buy a grease gun and pump filler. Received letter from the Reading Custom Laundry, John St. requesting reduction on future sewer rental charges and abatements on past sewer rental charges.
