December 11, 1925 .
Members present: John W. Owen, Joseph W. Booth,
W. S. Kinsley, F. C. Carter, M. C. Higgins mid the superintend-
ent.
Mr. Collins presented an estimated cost of $1557.60
for laying 700' of 6" Water Main in School and Dudley Streets.
Mr. Collins was instructed to make a plan of the proposed
` extension.
A notice was received from the Town Accountant to
prepare the 1926 Budget, and to make up a list of unpaid bills
as of December 31, 1925.
The New England Insurance Exchange has submitted a
list of recommendations to bring about a reduction in rates.
The recommendation, if carried out , would cost $25,048.60
(gstimated) A copy of a letter to the Selectmen is a
part of this report.
The Board approved the purchase of 200 tons of coal
from Castner , Curran & Bullitt Inc. , at $7.57 f. o. b. Reading.
The Board also approved the purchase of a steel filing
cabinet for plans .and blueprints at a price of $560.00

Attached herewith is an estimate of the cost of the

water main extension as proposed by the New Engla&- Insurance
Exchange. The amount of benefit derived is so insignificant
that it does not, in our opinion, ,justify the expense.
