HomeMy WebLinkAbout1925-09-11 Board of Public Works Minutes MEETING OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORM %W Sept. 11th, 1926 Present: Mr. Owen, Mr. Booth, 11r. Kinaley and the Superintendent. A delegation from Forest St, met with the Board to talk over the street lines which the County Commissioners had established for the purpose of determining the land damages to their respective properties. It was decided to change the location of the layout on sheet f1 of that part of Forest St. which had not been previously laid out by the County Commissioners , and request the latter to re- figure their stations along that section. The Board voted to comply with the request of the Wake- field Water and Sewerage Board, stated in a letter by them dated Sept. 9, 1926, relative to the discontinuance of tir. Harry A. Power's ` water service at 14 Lowell St. , Wakefield , 1diass. Lettere were writ- ten to the Wakefield Water and Sewerage Boards, andalso to Mr. Powers. The Supt. spoke of the rails left by the Eastern 'Taos. St. Ry. Co. on Oak St. , and stated that no response had come from M r. Leavitt in regard to their being removed. The Board wrote to Mr. Leavitt in relation to them and requested that they be notified of their action in the matter and to give it their immediate attention. Mr. Lee came before the Board and asked if something could not be done to the drain serosa Green St. , between John and Eaton Sts. , and the open ditch running towards the Eaton St, culvert. The Supt. was instructed to investigate and report at the next Board meeting. The Supt. was also requested to report on the condition of South St. , west of So, Main St. Sept. 11 . 1926 ' The Supt. was asked to be more careful about carrying out orders directed to him by the Board, especially road construc- tion work, and to notify the Chairman of emergencies which might come up which would call the men on other duties other than the work laid out by the Board. The Supt, notified the Board that he had had the flag- pole straightened and painted on the Colmnon. The progress obtained by the 'Water Dept. on Libby Ave. , and the progress of work laid out was explained, by the Superintendent. Meeting adjourned 9:30 P.M. SUPFRINTR"FNT �W"
