Meeting of the Board of Public Worke
Present ; Mr. Owen, Mr. Carter, 11r. Kinsley and the Superintendent.
Patching the street surfaces where holes had accrued was taken
up by the Board and the Supt, was instructed to repair same mentioned in
the discussion, this coming week.
The ;aalden and tlelrose Gas Light Co. , submitted four tracings
of drawings for main pipe locations for the approval of the Board.
The Chairman suggested that at the time of submitting tracinge, blue
prints be also submitted,before the Board as a whole signed the tracings
granting them a location in streets. ?he Supt. was instructed to ob-
tain blue prints of the tracings submitted, before the Board signed the
present tracinFs.
The Chairman asked the Supt. to prepare a letter for him to
sign addressed to 1.1r. Leavitt of the Eastern Mass. St. R. A. Co. , calling
to his attention the bad condition of the point between the gkaer and
�y T rail at the P. T. on Washington St, at the function of ?•lain St.
The Supt. was also informed by the Board to notify ',Tr. Cibby
of the Malden and 41elrose Cas Co. that they would replace their trench
on Washington St. at their expense , and to obtain from them an order
for doing such work.
The plan of the proposed widening of Gould St. was again
placed before the Board for their consideration. The Supt. was in-
structed to obtain the assessed valuation per sq. ft. from the assessors
for the Board for their information, and to forward to Ida T. ':artin
and T;verett 33. Bowie , a sketch, need .and Release , with a letter ex-
plaining why the Board desired to take the land. .
The Supt. was also asked to prepare a letter for the
Chairman to sign to Ur. Larland, of the Reading Rubber and Sanford Mills,
referring to his previous letters and forwarding him a copy of the new
release which the Town Council had drawn up.
The Chairman asked the Supt, to obtain from Mr. Barbour' s
office the cost per foot of installing the stone-wall ditch along
his property.
