Higgins an:L the Superintendent. .The John St. drain was discussed at length. It was finally z.greed that the Tovm would construct a culvert across the Bolton Property and Bolton St. , a distance of approximately 115 feet, at its ovm expense. This culvert is to follow the course of the one now existing. This decision will allow Barbour and Dixon to proceed with the plans,wbich he was instructed to do. The Superintendent was instructed to ascertain boundry lines and abbutors on the course of the drain, ai" to obtain releases from the owners, necessary for the performance of the work. was The huniciapl Tight Board -we-re granted permission to erect two poles on Prescott St ., , Mr. Fr:d SLuith with his attorney and the Town Counsel, appeared before the Board relative to the Smith-Chamberlain suit against the Town. Mr. Smith made claims for damages to personal property and real estate amounting to 41500.00. The attorney stated that Mr. Chamberlain's claim for damages to real estate was 42000.00. H: was not Uui,c sure of Mr. Chamberlain's position, and stated that he would take up this particulLr matter with the Board. at a later date. It was the opinion oftheBoard, after hearing the evidence that neither of these claims were ,justified in any degree. It was voted to reinforce the floor timbers at the Highway Department shop. The work is to be done by E. B. Currell & Sons. at an estimated. cost of 4130.00. It was also voted to shingle the building and Mr. Collins was instructed to get labor estimates. r. A report was r:,ceived from Messrs. Booth, Kinsley and Collins on the condition of South St. and illis five. Ji letter is to be sent to the County Commission regardin:c the, South St, situation. The committee reported that the con- dition of Alis 1,ve, conl'orras with the plan as presented to the Boaiti of Survey. 9 few minor changes recommended by the committee hav-, already been taken care of, and the Board now recon:men s the acceptance of the street. Mr. Collins was instructed to take the steps necessary to insure, an ixticle in the next town warrant accepting this street. It was decided to erect a. corner curb on the N.B. corner of Summer .Vc ., and Prescott Sts. , abutting the property of -lbert Temple. The estimated cost is 945. It was dacided to install a 1-j" main 200 ft. lonz on Larch Dane . The anticipated development does not warrant a larger service . 'The Board also recormaended the substitution of a la" main for a 4" on ';±ilson 0ourt, to take care of an additional service. The Superintendent was instructed to install an 18" VW expanded metal pipe for about 50' along Kin4,ston St. This will replace an open ditch alon. the narrow 7,;Frt of the rood, which is considered dangerous. `► The Superintendent was instructed to drain the low Place in Pearl St, referred to in the report of the last meetin;; provided propertyowners will give the Town releases from any land damage. The drain will empty into the brook running through Memorial Park and is estimates to cost about 4500.00. It was voted to holt: the meeting; of the Board. at r. seven o'clock until further notice.
