In response to our request to the County Commissioners
for the relocating of Forest Street, a hearing has been granted
by them on April 28th at ten A. M. , in the Liunicipal Building.
'r. Collins was instructed to be present and represent the Board..
A quotation was received from Coleman Bros. for crushed
stone. Their prices were $2.00 per ton for pea stone and X1.50
per ton on all other sizes, F.O.B. Malden. Since the price is
higher and it being a longer haul than from the ',inchester
quarry we will not do business with them.
A .preliminary plan of the John Street drain was received
from Barbour and Dixon. This project was discussed by the Board
and particularly the culvert crossing the property of Isaac
Bolton at 12 Bolton Street. A letter was written to the Town
Counsel in regard to the rights of the Town in this case.
Iir. Collins was instructed to obtain a report from the
Town Counsel, regardingthe collection of the water construction
bill against H. H. Fierce.
'Mrs. Tirrell and I:rs. Rogers, representing the Reading
Women's Club, appeared before the Board regarding a proposed
campaign by their organization for the purpose of keeping the
streets of the Town free from papers and refuse.

A delegation of residents from Ridge Road appeared
before the Board with a petition for the acceptance of Ridge
Road as a public highway. This is not the proper proceedure
and they were informed as to the necessary course to be take
.The Superintendent was authorized to purchase 200 ft.�_`I
of granite curbing 6"x16" for use in frontof the property of

1Sr. Green, 116 High Street, and 190- ft. for the Unitarian
Church Job on Summer Avenue. The price of the curbing is $1.75 ` 1.10
per foot. The Superintendent has obtained a price of $.35 per
foot for setting the curb. This price was accepted.
The Superintendent was authorized to purchase twenty-
five granite bounds at $3.00.
Mr. Foote who is proprietor of a large green house at the
the lower end of Pleasant Street, has requested a larger
service pipe across private land to his green house. The
Superintendent was instructed to take the matter up with Ir.
Foote and report to the Board at a subsequent meeting.
