Higgins and the Super- intendent. The yu])erintenrlent was inst:ructod to buy about 100 tons of coal for use at the pumpin._ station. Permission was ,riven the N. ].. Telephone and Telegraph Co. to remove a pole located nuL the junction of Lowell and Highland Sts. , On Feb. 25, 1915 the Board received an acknowledgment from the Finance Caimnittee of our lr.tter of October 16, 1924 calling the attention of the Committee to the riuch needed improvements that come under the supervision of this Board, axv9 which will have to be seriously considered within a short while. Clough, Chairman of Board of Public 'Works , Dear Mr. Clough:- It is with the deepest feeling of regret that we are to lose your association with us as a member of this Board. It is most difficult to rive expression to our feeling of admiration of your sterling qualities of leadership and ability as demonstrated during the years of service with us ; of the able and conscientious manner in which you have handled the various difficult problems that have confronted us during this period; and the ability you have displayed In keeping perfect harmony among u€ during the many discussions of important matters brought before us. Aside from the actual business of the Board we are not unmindful of the many valuable personal experiences you have , at various times , related to us during and after our regular sessions ; experiences that have been of great value to us in assisting more clearly to a better judgment of problems in hand.
