` Members present: George H. Clough, Joseph W. Booth,
John Owen, Frank Carter, Miles C. Higgins and the Super-
intendent.
The Malden and Melrose Gas Light CO . were refused. a
blanket permit to open streets, where mains were laid this
summer, for the purpose of repairing leaks if any were found.
It was the opinion of the Board that specific permits should be
granted only as the occasion required.
A special committee, organized in the Town of Milton
which is looking into the possible income from sewer assessments
charges, asks for information regarding our charges for
and

L similar work. Mr. Owen agreed to see
inquiry and give him what information he could.
The plan of "Extension of Bancroft Avenue" was approved-
-by
pprovedby the Board. The plan was filed with the Town Clerk.
The Finance Committee was furnished with a list of
public improvements in the water, highway, and sewer depart-
ments. The items on this list are all under the consideration
of the Board at the present time and total approximately
$700,000 in cost. there is one

in regard to drainage flowing on his land because of filled-in
ditches. Mr. Collins was instructed to dig out the ditch when
the opportunity permitted.
