HomeMy WebLinkAbout1924-09-12 Board of Public Works Minutes September 12, 1924. Members present: Ceorge H. Clough, Joseph W. Booth, John Owen, Miles C. Higgins and the Superintendent. The decree of the County Commissioners, of February 15, 1924 regarding repairs and relocation of South Street, was again brought to the attention of the Board by kr. Collins. On September 12th Mr. Collins saw County Engineers taking measurements of South Street and for this reason brought the matter before the Board. No action was taken. Mr. Henry J. Bradley, of 75 Green Street, appeared before the Board complaining of the drainage situation in his neighborhood. There is no immediate relief from this situation which was thoroughly explained to him to his satisfaction. Mr. Green, 116 High Street has complained. of water flowage from High Street onto his land. The complaint was presented by Mr. Collins. Mr. Green was invited to present his case personally to the Board at the next meeting. The general situation, in regard to sidewalk improve- ments, was discussed. . There are several applications in but all of them cannot be complied with because of lack of funds. The following vote was passed: Voted: That a building line be , and the same hereby is, established on the property of William F. Wehrle at the corner of Summer Ave. , and Prescott St. said line to be set back twenty five (25) feet from the line of said Prescott Street. and twenty five feet from the line of said Summer Avenue. , and substantially as shown on the plan of said `. land and said streets hereto annexed and forming a part of this vote and the records of this meet- ing; and that all buildings or parts thereof, be- tween the building line as so established and the street line of Prescott St. and Summer Ave, shall be removed. A certified copy of the vote,with the plan referred to therein duly annexed thereto, was sent to the Town Clerk. A.certified copy of the vote,with the plan referred to therin duly annexed thereto, also a certified copy of the notice sent to William F. Wehrle on September 2, 1924 were sent to the Town Counsel.
