A comLtmicetion dated August 21, 1924 from W. Minot Hurd, Attorney, 85 Devonshire Street, Boston was presented. This communication, relating to alleged injuries said to have been sustained by:- Edward Gordon Julius Fritz Catherine Dinneen Julia A. Gordon was referred to the Town Counsel. The Superintendent reported that the hydrants had been completely inspected and that in about another week repairs would be completed and all hydrants would be in first class condition. The reply of the Town Counsel in regard to County Road was received. The records of both the town and county do not show that County Road was ever accepted as a public way. For this reason we cannot spend money from the general appropriation for work on this road. Money may be expended upon such private ways if specific appropriations are passed in Town Meeting. The Town Counsel also advises us that the sign "Private Way Dangerous" posted on private ways will protect the Town { from claims for damage incurred on such ways. It was decided to furnish Mr. Goodnougl}, of the State Board of Health, with a copy of Barbour and Dixon's report on on the water situation. ✓� A hearing vias called at eight o'clock on ,Joint petition of the New England Telephone and Telegraph Co, and the Municipal Light Plant for the erection of two poles on Bancroft Avenue from Lowell Street northeasterly.
