Mr. Chas. P. Stockwell submitted a plan showing pro- posed land developments on Longwood Road and requests that the existing road be widened. A reply was returned stating that this road was not a public way and would receive no attention or consideration. Mr. C. A. Holcomb of,* John Street entered a complaint regarding the open drain running through his property. The matter was referred to the Town Counselor for advice. Two women representing the Reading Women's Club came w before the Board. in regard to the playground work. The plans as outlined seemed very satisfactory. Because of the great expense involved, the water ex- tensions on Forest Street have been delayed. One of the appli- cants for water on this extension came before the Board in re- gard to the situation. After a discussion it was decided to lay a 1}" extension on top of the ground at once. This is sat- isfactory to the applicants and will tide them over the summer period. Before the ground freezes, permanent pipes will be laid. . Before proceeding with the road work on Village Street, Mr. Collins is to make an effort to have as many sewer entrances made as possible. This will prevent tearing up the road for entrances after it is put in shape. r„ Pg. No. 2 6/13/24 Voted: To adjourn. Respectfully—submitted ubmitted Sec. , Board of Public Works. ti
