Barbour and Dixon are now ready to go ahead with the
work of establishing building lines. The appropriation will
be used as far as possible to establish lines in the area
within a half mile radius from Reading Square and within a
mile radius from the Square between Prescot Street northerly
to Lowell Street.
The Malden and Melrose Gas Company at the request of
Mr. Collins is to lay six-inch gas main on streets that are now
torn up for sewer construction.
Representatives of the Reading Women's Club have asked
for a date to come before the Board in regard to the Playground.
A meeting has been set for June 10 at 8 O'clock.
The amount of repair work that is necessary to be done
and the limited equipment that we have available has made it
advisable to have some hauling cone by outside labor. We need
to have approximately 500 cubic yards of gravel hauled from the
gravel. bank for repairs on Village Street at once, and if are
can obtain a good price there is additional hauling that may
be done. The Superintendent was instructed to get prices from
several contractors.
Voted: To adjourn.
Respectfully submitted,
Sec. , Boa f Public Works.
