HomeMy WebLinkAbout1924-05-09 Board of Public Works Minutes � gR May 9, 1924 Members present: Geo. H. Clough, Joseph W. Booth, John W. Owen, Frani: Carter, Miles C. Higgins, and the Super- intendent. A news article in the "Reading Chronicle" of May 9 on the Forest Street situation was criticized by the Board. The article was a misstatement of fact and of a nature that will cause a great amount of trouble in carrying out the work of the Board. A letter was written to the editor of the pa- per advising him of the situation, and asking for his coopera- tion in the work, of the Board. Mr. Hanscom appeared before the Board, asking for %W water service to his house which is under construction on Tower Road. This section of the town is being built up rapid- ly and it was decided to extend the 6" main about 220, on Hanscom Avenue to Tower Road and take off a 1-J" line to feed Tower Road. A letter visa written to Mr. Richard Nichols as repre- senting the petitioners for the new sewer extension, asking him to see as many of the petitioners as possible for the pur- pose of getting their houses connected.
