May 9, 1924
Members present: Geo. H. Clough, Joseph W. Booth,
John W. Owen, Frani: Carter, Miles C. Higgins, and the Super-
intendent.
A news article in the "Reading Chronicle" of May 9
on the Forest Street situation was criticized by the Board.
The article was a misstatement of fact and of a nature that
will cause a great amount of trouble in carrying out the work
of the Board. A letter was written to the editor of the pa-
per advising him of the situation, and asking for his coopera-
tion in the work, of the Board.
Mr. Hanscom appeared before the Board, asking for
%W water service to his house which is under construction on
Tower Road. This section of the town is being built up rapid-
ly and it was decided to extend the 6" main about 220, on
Hanscom Avenue to Tower Road and take off a 1-J" line to feed
Tower Road.
A letter visa written to Mr. Richard Nichols as repre-
senting the petitioners for the new sewer extension, asking
him to see as many of the petitioners as possible for the pur-
pose of getting their houses connected.
Voted to adjourn.
Respectfully submitted//,
Sec. , Board of Public Works.
