April 25, 1924
Members present: Geo. H. Clough, Joseph W. Booth,
John W. Owen, crank Carter, Miles C. Higgins, and the Super-
intendent.
The Municipal Light Department was given permission
to erect two poles on Main Street between Harnden and Salem
Streets. No hearing necessary.
The Malden and Melrose Gas Light Company were given
permission to open Woodward Avenue from their main to Lot #6,
a distance of fifty feet to the residence of H. R. Johnson;
also to open Spring Street from Orange Street to #16 Spring
Street, a distance of about three hundred fifteen feet , for
the purpose of extending their six-inch gas main and laying
` services to Nos. 16, 20, and 22.
Mr. Collins finds that at present there are approx-
imately 31,394 feet of li" pipe being used as mains in the
Town.
The sewer contractor has submitted a price of y^1.25
per foot for making sewer entrances from the main lines to and
through the foundation walls. This price is to include the
laying of the pipe with G. K. Joints and the back-filling.
The Town is to furnish the pipe, jute, and G. K. Compound.
It is the opinion of the Board that this was a fair price,
but that it should include the furnishing of the G. K. Com-
pound. Mr. Collins was to see the contractor about revising
, his price.

Pg. No. 2 4/25/24
`r It appears that some time ago the County Commission-
ers issued an order directing specific repairs on South Street.
This order was never brought before the Board. We now have
a request to put the mad in better condition pending the re-
pairs as ordered. Mr. Collins is to look up the original or-
der.
An order from the County Commissioners ordering re-
pairs and relocation of Charles Street was received. A hear-
ing is set for May 26th at 10 o'clock A. M. in the Municipal
Building. This order was issued as a result of a petition
of Charles Wakefield and seventeen others.
Mr. Collins is to fill in the ruts on Charles Street
and put the road into reasonable condition as soon as possible.
The residents of Libby Avenue have been loaned one
of the Town's road scrapers which they are to use in putting
their street in shape for acceptance.
Voted to adjourn.
Respectfully submitted,
Sec. , Board f ublic Works.
