HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923-06-22 Board of Public Works Minutes Meeting of the Board of Public Works. June 22, 1923.. All present but !Jr. G4hite lir. Marlain and Lir. Perkins of the Reading Rubber and Sanford Hills came before the Board in relation to the installation of a 8" Detector Meter on their main lire. It was finally agreed that the Supt. with Mr. Putnam, General foreman of the 3ater Dept. would go there and inspect their water supply system to ascertain whether or not they had any further connections installed on unmetered lines. It was also supe-ested by ::r. Van Stone that a larger connection from the main should run which would take care of all domestic use used in both Mills, and that they reconstruct their water ser- vice so as to feed off this line and to have supplied from their springer system. Mr. Springford, Chairman of tl.e Selectmen, invited the Board to confer with the manager of the Eastern Mass. St. Ry. Co, in regard to the removal of any poles or overhead structures, also unused structures. Mr. Bent representing the 4th of July Celebration Committee , respect- fully asked if the Board would grant permits for booths on the Common for the purpose of selling light drinks. it •was the unanimous vote of the Board that such be not granted.
