Members present: George H. Clough, Charles H.
VanStone, Frederick W. Allen, John W. Owen, 'Clarence C. White
and the Superintendent.
Idr. Daniel Canty appeared for residents on Middlesex
Avenue .Extension with a petition for the acceptance of that
street. The Superintendent was instructed to look the matter
up.
The full list of appropriations for the Public Works,
Highway, Water, Park and Sewer Departments were presented by
the Superintendent.
The Superintendent reported on the condition of the
4 steam-roller . Be advised the Board that he had been quoted
a price of $"5990 on a new roller, with an allowance of X1250
for the old one . Ao action was taken.
Voted: To grant the petition of the Slew England Tel.
& Tel. Company and the Town of Reading Municipal Light Depart-
ment for joint or identical. locations for a line of poles al-
ready existing on Salem Street from Pearl to Bay State Road,
as per plan J79 on file.
On motion it was unanimously voted: That in accordance
with estimates shown in letter of F. A. Barbour, Civil Engineer,
dated 1,:ay 26, 1921 , showing what may fairly be considered as the
ultimate cost of the completed sewer system in the Town of
4W Reading, and notes attached thereto , the frontage assessment to
be made in .accordance with the provisions of the Act under which

said sewer was constructed (Chapter 314, Acts of 1909 ) is
hereby fixed as follows :
Estimated ultimate total cost of complete system 4607,880.00
Metropolitan Entrance Fee (Amount actually paid) 35,000.00
Interest during construction 22,000.00
Capitalized value of yearly contribution to
interest and sinking fund of Metropolitan System 107 ,088.00

Total estimated cost of completed system ,968.
30% of 0771,968.00 $231,590.40
Estimated assessable frontage is 330 ,000 linear feet.
Frontage assessment per linear foot is $.70
