HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-01-27 Board of Public Works Minutes 191- Reading, Mass. , January 27, 1947 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs . Lindsay, Putnam, Teer and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Mr. Putnam and Mr. Teer alternated as Chairman. Voted to abate $5.00 on July, 1946, and $5.00 on January, 1947 water bill of Kenneth Hulsman, 284 Woburn Street. Received letter from State Dept. Public Arks listing approved 1947 allotments of Chapter 90 Const. and Maintenance. Voted to request Town to transfer the 1946 appropriation of $4, 500 for Charles St. Chapter 90 to the 1947 Lowell St. Chapter 90 and to add $500.00 so that the 1947 Lowell St. Chapter 90 appro- priation will be $5,000.00. Voted to extend storm drain in Chapin Avenue towards Main Street when funds become available. Temporarily adjourned at 8:00 P.M. Reconvened at 9:15 P.M. Hearing held on the proposed acceptance of Curtis Street from South St. approximately 1010 ft. southerly as a public way. Pease, David and Berry of the Planning Board relative to landscaping the Common. They presented a report and a proposed layout which was prepared by a landscape architect at their request.
