HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946-11-18 Board of Public Works Minutes 183 Reading, Mass. , November 18, 1946 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Lindsay, Brophy, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Voted to approve all actions taken by Board at previous meeting held October 28, 1946. Approved proposed gas main locations in Fielding Road and Bradford Road and signed plan for same. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved, and placed on file: Gustav Anderson 12 Pinevals Avenue IConsidered suggestion of Selectmen that this Department assume complete control of traffic signs and lines. Board to confer with Selectmen. Voted following pole locations: New Pole on east side of Main St. 587 ft. northerly from Pearl Street 3 new poles on west side of Haverhill St. 1650 ft. 1752 ft. and 1852 ft. southerly from Wakefield St. Pole Nos. 40/89A - 40/88A - 40/87A 2 poles on north side of Granger Avenue abandoned Pole Nos. 203/5 and 203/4 Pole No. 31/59A on south side of Grove St. changed from T of R to J.O. Discussed details of installation of Water Services and Sewer House Connections for prefabricated houses. Superintendent to prepare new rules and regulations and submit to Board at next meeting. Considered re,uest of Hamilton Foster that he be relieved of necessity of filing performance bond covering excavation in the proposed extension of Orchard Road. 184 - Voted to permit Mr. Foster to file a personal bond with this Department accompanied by collateral in the amount of one thousand ($1,000) Dollars . Signed architects agreement for extension to garage. Voted to hold next meeting of Board, December 2, 1946. Considered reauest of Percy Sweetser for abatement on October 1, 1946, water bill for barn abutting roadway leading to old Simonds factory off Ash Street.
