Reading, Mass. , June 10, 1946
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Messrs . Davis, Lindsay, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were
present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Voted to permit American Legion to play baseball on Washington
St. Park on alternate Sunday afternoons starting June 23, 1946 and
extending through September, 1946.
Voted to permit St. Agnes C.Y.O. to play baseball on Washington
St. Park on Monday and Friday- evenings starting June 14, 1946 and
extending through August 2, 1946.
Voted to advertise for the removal of old equipment contained
in the Mill Street Pumping Station.
Hearing held at 7:45 P .M. on proposed extension of sewer in
Chute Street.
Following persons present:
Thomas Trainor In favor of extension
Albert Gascoigne In favor of extension
Helen Gordon In favor of extension
It was voted to make extension.
Hearing held at 8:00 P .M. on proposed sewer extension in
Echo Avenue.
Following persons present:
Charlotte Chesley In favor of extension

Charles E. Grogan In favor of extension
Mabel MacKay In favor of extension

Richard Chesley In favor of extension

Voted to make extension.
Hearing at 8:15 P.M. on proposed sewer extension in Sunnyside

Avenue and Fairview Avenue.

Voted to make extension.
Temporarily adjourned at 8:45 P .M. to hold a meeting of
the Board of Survey.
Reconvened at 9:45 P.M.
Voted to underwrite a Field Day on July 4, 1946 as in pre-
vious years. Field Day is to be operated by employees of the
Recreation Committee.
Received letter requesting use of Departmental trucks on
Emergency Food Collection.
Voted to allot two trucks and four men for two afternoons.
Work on Saturdays and Sundays will be done only if Department
employees volunteer their services.
Voted to establish vacation period for all possible
employees from July 13 to July 28, 1946 inclusive.
Voted to hold next meeting of Board on June 24, 1946.
Board adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
