HomeMy WebLinkAbout1946-02-25 Board of Public Works Minutes 153 Reading, Mass., February 25, 1946 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Putnam, Teer and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Considered report of salary increases granted to employees of Municipal Light Department. Voted unanimously to write Finance Committee requesting all Departmental Budgets be increased to permit Board of Public Works to grant 10% salary increase to employees. Received letter from Finance Committee stating they had voted to recommend $8,000.00 for Sidewalk Acct. , $15,000.00 for Sewer Acct. , $1,961.00 for acceptance of Cape Cod Ave. , and $1, 511.00 for acceptance of Wood End Lane. Received letter from Postmaster requesting that the name of Elm Street off Chestnut Road be changed. Voted to writePostmasterthat since this is a private way, the Board has no jurisdiction in the matter. Signed new layout Plan No. A-13-66 for Pearl St. from Wakefield St. southeasterly approximately 1750 feet. Signed proposed new lot layout Plan No. A-13-38A for Cape Cod (Private) Ave. from Lowell St. southerly approximately 350 ft. Board adjourned at 9:00 P.M. Respectfully submitted: ' (Signed) H. W.
