HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-09-10 Board of Public Works Minutes 14 � Reading, Mass . , September 10, 1945 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Lindsay, Brophy, Putnam, Teer, and Superin- tendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Discussed employees request for time and one half pay for all overtime. Received letter from Doris Kimball thanking Board for six months' leave of absence. Received letter from County Commissioners relative to possible Chapter 90 Const. in 1946. Voted to apply for an allotment of $4, 500.00 each for Lowell Street and Charles Street. Voted to repair lights on two tennis courts at Birch Meadow. i Conferred with the Public Works Sub-Committee of the Finance Committee relative to request of employees for time and one half pay for overtime. Messrs. Connelly, Fowle, Pinkham and Fowler of Sub-Committee present. Matter to be submitted to Finance Committee of the whole. Voted a salary increase as follows: Mrs. Coney from $29.40 per week to $31.50 per week Miss Callan from $23.00 per week to $25.00 per week Miss Gonzalo from $20. 50 per week to $22. 50 per week Miss White from $20. 50 per week to $22. 50 per week Voted following pole locations : Haverhill St. - Poles 40/16 to 40/20 inclusive changed from T of R to J.C. Received letter from Walter Gerritson relative to proposed skating area off Cross Street. 125 Voted to hold next meeting of Board on Monday, September 24, 1945. Board adjourned at 9: 50 P.M.
