Davis, Lindsay, Putnam, Brophy, Teer, and Superin- tendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Voted leave of absence to Miss Doris Kimball for a period of six months beginning September 8, 1945. Voted to close the Department for one day when surrender of Japan is officially announced. However, if the President proclaims a two-day national holiday, the Department will close accordingly. Voted to close entire Department Wednesday, August 15, 1945, Trader's Day. ' Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file: Sartelle Prentice 166 Prescott Street Voted to request County Commrs . and State Department of Public Works to increase 1946 Chapter 90 Maint. allotments to $2,500.00 each and to spend all 1946 Chapter 90 Maint. putting a black top on Main Street from Washington Street to Haven Street. Hearing held at 8:00 P.M. on proposed sewer extension in Gould Street from Haven St. to a point opposite #18 Gould Street. Following persons present: Winifred Spurr - representing Lester Riley - In favor John Spurr - representing Lester Riley - In favor Voted to extend sewer as per plan. Voted to assess sewer frontage assessment on property of Leslie A. Friend at al on Gould Street as follows: 100 feet @ 350 per foot 149 feet @ 700 per foot 22 Messrs. Ryland, Benton, and Morrow, employees of the Depart- ment, conferred with the Board, relative to basis of pay for over- time and equalization of salaries. They presented a written petition unsigned, which is attached hereto and herewith becomes a part of these records. Voted to submit request and accompanying data to Finance Committee. Voted to meet again with employees ' representatives on Monday evening, September 24, 1945. Voted to request the Public Works Sub-Committee of the Finance Committee to meet with this Board on Monday evening, September 10, 1945. Signed 1946 list of GranoXithic Sidewalk assessments.
