HomeMy WebLinkAbout1945-03-19 Board of Public Works Minutes 107 Reading, Mass. , March 19, 1945 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Lindsay, Brophy, Putnam, Teer and Superin- tendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Records of meeting of March 5, 1945 read and approved. Mr. Garabino, 425 Haverhill Street, conferred with Board relative to rental of bulldozer. Voted to approve rental. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file: Harold Cogger 9 Cross Street Frank Brown 309 Haven Street Mr. Clinton Bancroft conferred with Board relative to offer of Walter Gerritson to provide land for recreational purposes off Cross Street. Board will investigate. Received petition from three property owners at #43 and #49 and #53 Fairview Avenue requesting extension of sewer to permit connection of these properties. Board will investigate. Voted to authorize Superintendent to rent, if possible, a street -sweeper and a catch basin cleaning machine. Voted permit to Rotary Club for use of Washington Street ' Park on the afternoon of May 30, 1945. Voted to pay extra sick leave to Harold Abbott, George Gadbois, Robert Morrow and George Baxter. 108 Voted to loan old truck body trailer to George Poole of Walnut Street. Voted following pole locations: Pearl St. - Pole 70/22A - changed from T of R to 5.0. Board adjourned at 8:30 P.M. Respedtfully submitted : Secretary
