HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944-09-11 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass . , September 11, 1944 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Lindsay, Teer, Putnam, and Superintendent Welch were present. Mr. Lindsay acted as Chairman. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Voted to repair Driveway to Parker Tavern at request of Antiquarian Society. Voted to close the Department for one day when Germany capitulates. Voted to request Town Counsel to prepare an amendment to the Act establishing the Board of Public Works so that Board ' members may be Town Meeting members. Voted to approve action of Superintendent in purchasing Frink snow plow from the Town of North Reading, Voted to permit Superintendent and Board Members to attend New England Water Works Convention at Poland Springs, Maine, with expenses paid from Water Department Funds. Also to permit use of Superintendent's Coupe for transportation to and from Convention.
