Reading, Mass. , June 26, 1944
' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Chairman Davis, Messrs . Lindsay, Tear, Putnam and Superin-
tendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Voted to make small drain extension in Deering Street to
relieve drainage conditions in front of #67.
Received notice from WPB that our application for a snow
loader has been denied. An appeal has been filed.
Received letter from Barrett Co. quoting price of 9 cents
per gallon for tar during 1944.
Hearing at 8:00 P .M. on extension of sewer in Woburn St.
from Gilmore Avenue westerly approximately 90 ft.
Following persons present:

Voted to extend sewer as per plan.
Hearing at 8:15 P.M. on extension of sewer in Bancroft
Avenue from end of present sewer opposite #83 approximately 85
feet northerly.
Following persons present:

Mrs. Frederick Withington In favor
Voted to extend sewer as per plan.
Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on extension of sewer in Deering St.
from Middlesex Avenue approximately 170 feet northerly.

Voted to extend sewer as per plan.
Voted not to place an assessment against property of Mary '■
Chadbourne, 37 Deering St. , because the elevation of the sewer is
above the elevation of the cellar and thus it would be impossible
to properly connect the house with the sewer.
Hearing at 8:45 P.M. on proposed drain easement off Pine
Ridge Road through lands of Allan Sturges.
No one present.
Voted to make a taking providing Mr. Sturges will grant
easement to Town free of cost.
Considered master sheets which are to be filed with the
Capital Budgeting Committee.
Discussed each item and made several changes. Sheets will
be again considered at the next Board Meeting. ,
Voted to hold next meeting of Board, July 17, 1944.
Board adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
