Reading, Mass. , April 10, 1944
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Messrs. Davis, Putnam, Teer and Superintendent Welch were
present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Conferred with Post War Planning Committee relating to
expenditures of Post War Planning Funds appropriated at March
Town Meeting. Messrs. Pease, Babcock, Powers and Austin, repre-
sented the Post War Planning Committee.
It was voted to allot the following sums to prepare plans
for the projects listed herewith:
Jr. High School Athletic Field - $500.00
Regrading Ditches - 400.00
Granolithic S. W. Construction - 200.00
Sewer Extensions 400.00
Storm Drain Extensions - 400.00 -
Reserve for Contingencies - 100.00
Total 2,000.00
These allotments were approved by the members of the Post
War Planning Committee.
Received letter from J. Earle Thompson, 11 Grand Street,
requesting that the sewer be extended so that the property at 11
Grand Street could be connected to it.
Voted to place request on file and to include extension
in Post War Planning List.
Voted to have an analysis made of the water in relation to
1 action on galvanized hot water tanks.
Voted not to remove large rocks from property at 205 Bancroft
Avenue.

Voted to purchase two hydraulic snow plow hoists at a cost
of $68. 50 each.

t t accept offer of 0. 0. Ordway to the effect that
Town will pay him $250.00 for the use of the gravel pit for 1944.

Spaulding, 7 g ,
requesting that he be retained as architect for the extensions at
the Highway Garage.
Voted to reply that sketches have already been made for
extensions and commitments made for further work.
Board adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
