Davis , Lindsay, Lothrop, Tear and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. e Signed voucher for November 1, 1943, Sewer Bond Interest, Voted following pole locations: Green St. - Pole 33/25 moved 25 ft. easterly Green St. - Pole 33/26 moved 22 ft. easterly Green St. - Pole 33/27 abandoned Green St. - Pole 33/28 moved 32 ft. westerly King St. - Pole 48/10 abandoned Voted abatement of $4. 50 on November 1, 1943 Sewer Bill of Bartholomew Carney of 31 Park Avenue. Voted not to rent grader to the City of Melrose. Voted to install 6" water main in Dividence Road providing each of the present home owners sign a 4% guarantee application and providing farther that the War Production Board approves an application for the installation. Voted to renew all the coke in the Filter Plant coke beds and to buy the new coke from local sources . Voted to sell coke which is removed from coke beds for $5.00 per ton. Department employees will be loaned a truck but will have to load and unload the coke on their own time. Others will have to furnish their own truck and do their own loading and unloading. Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed pole location on the south side of King St. 108 ft. westerly from Summer Avenue. No one present. 4b Location granted. - Voted not to abate any part of the water bill of George Elbaum, Indiana Avenue, and to invite Mr. Elbaum to confer with Board if he wishes. Voted to file with the New England Rating Bureau an applica- tion for a survey of the Town of Reading Water Distribution System. Voted permission to the Reading United War Fund Committee to erect a sign on or near Reading Common and to assist them in erecting the sign if necessary. Voted to include an item in the 1944 Budget for the extension of the common sewer from Eaton St. near Salem St. to Pierce Street opposite Weber & Smith factory. It was further voted to apply to the War Production Board for approval to make the installation. Voted to regrade the center section of the present dump so that the grade will be approximately two feet higher than the level of the dump near the caretaker's shanty.
