HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949-08-15 Board of Public Works Minutes`154 Reading, Mass. , August 15, 1949 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at ' 7:30 P.M. Chairman Calvin, Messrs. Donahue, Putnam, Harrison, Walker, and Assistant to Superintendent James T. Putnam were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Letter received from Mr. Bernard L. Maxwell, 24 Highland St., reauesting a 3/4" water meter be installed to replace his present 5/8" water meter. Voted to install larger water meter. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file: Leo A. Surrette 11 Temple Street ' George W. Rushton 114 Ash Street Voted to install 100 lineal feet of 30" diameter drain pipe, ' purchased by Mr. Harold Christenson, in the Sunnyside Avenue open drain ditch, as has been done in past years. Discussed at length, the problems facing the Water Department due to increased consumption of water and the current drought. Re- viewed reports of water surveys made in prior years by different consulting engineers, and voted to have said reports summarized and presented at. the next Board Meeting to be held Monday, August 22.
