HomeMy WebLinkAbout1949-06-13 Board of Public Works Minutes 146 Reading, Mass. , June 13, 1949 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at ' 7:30 P.M. Messrs . Donahue, Harrison, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were present. Mr. Harrison acted as chairman. - Records of previous meeting read and approved. Voted following pole location: Curtis St. - West side - Pole 16/12 moved 8 feet southwesterly. Voted to send all possible employees on vacation from July 16, 1949, to July 31, 1949 inclusive. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications, received, approved and placed on file: , John Merrick 10 Coolidge Road Willis Randall 123 Hopkins St. Following Granite Curb applications received, approved, and placed on file: Willis Randall 123 Hopkins St. Henry Wilson 65 Harnden St. Received letter from Town Counsel to the effect that the Board has authority to make rules and regulations for the placing of awnings over a public way. Voted to reouest Chief of Police to confer with Superintendent relative to his letter about awnings over public ways. Received letter from R. E. Everton, 51 Staples Avenue, Everett, requesting the extension of the water main in Lawrence Road. Board will investigate. 1�4T Discussed advisability of building an addition to the Garage under funds appropriated by the Town Meeting of March 11, 19L+6. No action taken. Voted to buy a Bay City Backhoe attachment for the .Bay City Shovel from the R. G. Robinson Co. at the bid price of $$2, 56o.00 f.o.b. Bay City, Michigan. Board adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
