Reading, Mass. , April 18, 1949
The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at t
7:30 P.M.
Chairman Calvin, Messrs. Donahue, Harrison, Putnam, Walker
and Superintendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Considered bids received for business coupe.
Voted to authorize Superintendent to make own choice between
Chevrolet and Ford.
Considered bids received for 3/4 Ton Pick-Up Truck.
Voted to purchase Pick-Up Truck from Laing Chevrolet Co. who
is the low bidder.
Permit granted to N.E. Tel. & Tel. Co. as follows:
Haverhill St. - West Side - 690 feet north of Franklin St.
Pole 12/158 - abandoned
Voted to obtain price for removal of old machinery from old
pumping station on Mill Street.
Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed sewer in King Street from
present dead end to #84.

above.
Signed plan for gas main location in West St. from King St.
to Palmer Hill Avenue
Board adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
