The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Chairman Putnam, Messrs . Lindsay, Calvin, Webb, and Super-
intendent Welch were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Adjourned at 7:45 P .M- to meet as Board of Survey.
Reconvened at 8:30 P.M.
Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed underground conduit loca-
tions for N.E. T 8c T Co. in Lowell Street near Grove Street, in
Grove Street near Lowell Street and in Hartshorn Street near
Lowell Street.
Following persons present: -
Mr. Harold Zitzow No objections
Mr. William Pitman No objections
Mr. Frederick Oberlander No objections
Voted underground conduit locations to N.E. T & T Co. as
follows:
Hartshorn St. - Starting 92 feet easterly from Lowell
Street and extending easterly 111 feet
Lowell Street - From M.H. 74/33 to Pole 53/50
Grove Street - Starting 140 feet northerly from Lowell
Street and extending 69 feet northerly
Hearing at 8:45 P .M. on proposed pole locations in Bancroft
Avenue, Wescroft Road, Springvale Road, and Salem Street.
Voted pole locations as follows:
Bancroft Ave. - Pole 24/2 moved 50 feet southerly
Salem Street - J.O. Pole 79/43A opposite pole 79/43
Wescroft Rd. -- J.O. Poles 224/1 to 224/6 inclusive
Springvale Rd .- J.O. Poles 226/1 to 226/4 inclusive
Spring Street - Poles 86/1 to 86/7 inclusive changed
from T. of R. to J.O.

Voted to request Finance Committee to transfer $2,000.00 from
Reserve Fund to Water Department for Expenses.
Considered report of Superintendent relative to conditions
at 11 Chestnut Road.
Voted to instruct Superintendent to confer with owner.
Following Granite Curb applications received, approved, and
placed on file:
Milton Symonds 170 Bancroft Avenue
Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved,
and placed on file:
Lester Boston 43 Vine Street
Reginald Edwards 7 Smith Street
Received letter from Pneumatic Restoration Co. , Inc. , quoting
estimate for gunite repairs to Filtration Plant as follows:
Filter #1 $1,130.00
Filter #2 1, 585.00 .
Voted to make repairs to one filter in 1948 and to one filter
in 1949 and to give job to Pneumatic Restoration Co.
Considered bids received on June 30, 1948, for various pieces
of equipment.
No action taken.
