Putnam, Lindsay, Calvin, Donahue, Webb and Super- intendent Welch were present. Records read and approved as corrected. Conferred with Mr. Roger DeEntremont and Mr. John Tormey. Hearing at 8:15 P.M. on proposed extension of sewer in Grande - Street and Middlesex Ave, to service 93 Middlesex Avenue. Following persons present: Tracy Chandler In favor Percy Moore In favor Hearing at 8:30 P.M. on proposed sewer extension in Dudley Street from Grand Street to near Deering Street. Following persons present: Henry Murphy, Jr. In favor Gordon Norris In favor A. J. Calef In favor Hearing at 8:45 P.M* on proposed sewer extension in Pearl Street from opposite No. 15 to opposite #11. Following persons present: Hiram Davis In favor William Pierpont In favor Voted permission to the Boy Scouts to play baseball on Birch Meadow Friday Evening, June 18, 1948. Voted following pole locations : County Rd. - Relocate Pole 37/36 eleven feet southerly Wakefield St- Relocate Pole 94/18 ten feet westerly Voted to approve extension of sewer in Grand St. and Middlesex Ave, as described above. 74 Voted to approve extension of sewer in Dudley St. as described above. Voted to approve extension of sewer in Pearl St. as described above. Hearing at 9:15 P .M. on proposed sewer extension in Pratt St. from Vista Ave. to #55 Pratt Street. Following persons present: Chester Cook In favor Mr. Richard Chesley and Mrs. Vera Scott registered as in favor of extension by letter. Voted to approve extension of sewer in Pratt St. as described above. Hearing at 9:30 P.M. on proposed pole locations in Prospect Street. . Proposed poles are on the westerly side of Prospect St. northerly from Longview Rd. and are numbered 90/25 and 70/26. , No one present. Locations approved. Received request from Mr. Charles A. Harrow that the Town of Reading install a water main and services in Brook Street to service houses which he proposes to build in Wakefield. Voted to request permission from the Town of Wakefield to install services to the three lots nearest Summer Avenue and to suggest a conference of the entire matter at a later date which will depend on the further development of the area. Received petition from Mr. Emlen Hutchins, Lot 38, Pine Ridge Road, requesting permission to connect a drain from the cellar of his home to the public storm drain in Pine Ridge Road. , Permission granted subject to the standard regulations of the Department. Considered proposals and specifications for the purchase of new equipment. 75 Voted to advertise for bids and to take bids on June 28, 1948, at 8:00 P .M. Considered recommendation by Superintendent of the appoint- ment of John Tormey as foreman of the Water Department on a provi- sional basis . It was moved, seconded, and voted to appoint and approve the appointment of Roger DeEntremont as foreman of the Water Department on a provisional basis for a period of four months at a salary of $56.00 per week, the appointment to begin at the pleasure of the Superintendent.
