The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at
7:30 P.M.
Chairman Putnam, Messrs. Lindsay, Webb, and Superintendent
Welch dere present.
Mr. Arthur Curtin, 75 Harrison St. , conferred with the Board
requesting permission to rent truck mounted crane and dump truck
to remove rocks from his yard.
Request granted. Work to be done at convenience of Dept.
Mr. Winslow Burhoe conferred with Board relative to proposed
storm drain layout for Winslow Road. Board agreed to eliminate
approximately 230 feet of 30" Cone. pipe from requirements. This
is at westerly extremity of proposed layout.
1 Mr. Joseph Doherty, 11 Linden Street, conferred with the
Board relative to the rebuilding of the sidewalk in front of his
newly built funeral home and garage. He requested that this Dept.
do the work. Board declined to do work. Suggested he make temporary
arrangements and file an application for granolithic sidewalk.
Voted to hold hearing November 3, 1947, for sewer extension
1n Summer Avenue from Prescott Street to No. 271 Summer Avenue.
Voted to hold next meeting of Board, November 3, 1947.
Conferred with Finance Committee relative to proposed
appropriations to be considered at Special Town Meeting of October
27, 1947.
Board adjourned at 10:15 P.M
