HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-05-12 Board of Public Works Minutes 9 Reading, Mass. , May 12, 1947 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Lindsay, Putnam, Webb, and Superintendent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved as corrected. Mr. Cook, 55 Pratt Street, conferred with Board relative to possible sewer extension in Pratt Street to his property. No action taken. Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on proposed sewer extension in Boyce Street and part of Summer Avenue. Hearing at 9:00 P.M. on proposed sewer extension in Lowell 1 Street from Middlesex Avenue approximately 80 ft. southerly. to Following persons present: Mrs . Marjorie Bryant In favor Following Granolithic Sidewalk Application received, approved and placed on file: Fordyce Williams 9 Kingston Street Following Granite Curbing Application received, approved, and placed on file: Fordyce Williams 9 Kingston Street Voted following pole locations: Wood End Lane - Poles 215/1 & 215/2 - J.O. Received petition from several abettors on Howard Street, requesting that the sewer be extended in Howard Street from West Street to County Road. No action taken. It was moved, seconded, and voted to take off the table the recommendation of the Superintendent that the following men be promoted from temporary classification to provisional permanent classification: Thomas Fallon William Faulkner John Lyman Edward McIntire George White (County Rd.) It was moved, seconded and voted that the above mentioned be promoted as above mentioned. Voted to build and erect three basketball backboards with rims and nets, one each in Memorial Park, Birch Meadow and Washington Street Park. Board adjourned at 10:15 p .M.
