HomeMy WebLinkAbout1939-05-26 Board of Public Works Minutes 218 Reading, Mass., May 26, 1939 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7 :30 P.M. Messrs. Davis, Brophy, Lindsay, Williamson and Superinten- dent Welch were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. Following Granolithic Sidewalk applications received, approved and placed on file. Daniel Dunn - 16 Hunt St. Hugh Ross - 54 Hanscom Ave. Following Granite Curb application received, approved and placed on file. Ina Berquist - 6 Berkeley St. Mr. Meuse, 33 Winter St, to see Board in regard to drainage off street onto his property. Board promised to regrade , street to eliminate the trouble. Notice received from Finance C6mm1ttee in regard to meet- ing on May 31. Board has no items to take up with them. Voted to buy a Jacobsen Power Lawn Mower. Voted to build berm on Franklin St. & Pearl St. , and run surface water on roadway and abandon present ditch at Northwest corner of Franklin & Pearl St. Voted to buy safe and storage cabinet for office. Visited Selectmen in regard allotment for wading pool at Washington St. Park. No answer. Approved a new section to be added to Regulations governing use of Tennis Courts. 219 New Section is as follows: Sect. 9. Non residents may not use the Tennis Courts except in company of Reading residents and then only when one half of the persons playing are residents of Reading. Residents of Roading will be supplies with identification cards upon application to either the Board of Public Works, or the Police Dept. Board adjourned 10:30 P.M.
