Reading, Mass., January 27, 1939
The regular meeting of the Board of. Public Works opened at
7:30 P. M.
Messrs. Lindsay, Putnam, Brophy and Superintendent Welch
were present.
Records of previous meeting read and approved.
Received letter from State Department Public Works approving
work done under Chapter 90 Maintenance in 1938.
Hearing at 8:00 P. M. on acceptance as a public way under
the Betterment Act an extension of Belmont St, approximately 500 ft.
north of Orange St.
Following persons present:
Harold Currell - In favor - also representing Pearl Messinger
Willis Tucker - In favor.
Acceptance taken under advisement.
Letter from Melville Fuller approveing acceptance as a public
way of a part of Prospect St. abutting property awned by him.
Met with Selectmen to request them to assign a special police
officer to Memorial Park during skating hours. They will do so.
Voted to issue permit for driveways to Gas Station at 467 Main St
to Sun 011 Co, provided that present tar sidewalk be replaced with gran-
olithic along entire frontage; also proveded granite curbing is placed
at gutter line between driveways. Both installated to grades furnished
by this Department.
Considered water bill of Mrs. Adams, 10 Kingston St. No.
abatement voted.
Board adjourned 9:00 P. M.
