HomeMy WebLinkAbout1938-02-25 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading Mass. February 2$, 1938 , The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Bancroft, Putnam, Brophy and Superintendent were present. Records of previous meeting read and approved. - Hearing at 8:00 P. M. under Board of Survey to consider lines and grades of proposed street - Granger Ave. off Haverhill St. Mr. Granger Carroll appeared in favor. No one appeared in opposition. Board of Survey voted to approve lines and grades as per plan . Hearing at 8:30 P. M. under Board of Public Works on relocation of a portion of the Easterly location line of Wext St. just North of Woburn St. No one present at hearing. Board voted to approve relocation and to recommend same to Town for acceptance. Hearing at 9:00 P. M. under Board of Public Works on the acceptance of a private way, known as Granger Ave. as a public way. Mr. Granger Carroll appeared in favor. No one appeared in opposition. Board voted to approve layout and to recommend same to Town for acceptance. Reports of the Board in relation to the above public way layouts are attached hereto and herewith become a part of these records. 237 -2- 2/25/38 Discussed at some length the proposed Town work relief program. Discussed certain budget items with Mr. Roberts, Chairman of Finance Committee. Discussed legal aspects of proposed Town work relief program. with Town Council. Board adjourned at 10:15 P. M.
