HomeMy WebLinkAbout1937-03-05 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading Mass. March 5, 1937 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Bancroft, Putnam, Brophy, Davis, Lindsay and Superintendent Welch were present.. Mr. Bfford Taylor called at the invitation of the Board to discuss the matter of a gravel bank which the Board desires and he wishes to sell. He offered to sell to the Town for v$3,000.00 He stated he was the authorized agent of Mrs. Stone,Co-owner. The Board proceeded to organize. Chairman - Mr. Bancroft - Unanimous Secretary- Mr. Putnam - " Superintendent - Mr. Welch " Voted to make a taking by nninent Domain on Taylor ' property in Hundred Acre Meadow. Voted to ask Selectmen to have proposed Special Town Meeting on Monday March 22nd, instead of March 15th. Selcetmen agreed. No change made in original motion in relation to land on John St. for Garage use. Voted to buy long wheel picks for roller. Voted to buy Hydrants & Valves for Water Dept. Voted to buy Brass Goods for Water Dept. Voted to establish Pules in relation to attendance of - employees at funerals. Meeting adjourned at 10:40 P.M. ' Respectfully Submitted: (Signed( H. W.
