HomeMy WebLinkAbout1937-02-05 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, .Mass. February 5,1937 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Bancroft, Lindsay, Davis, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were present. Fire Chief Eames appeared at meeting. Ce-.unittee agreed to have him trim trees rubbing on wires leading from Na Main St, to Beacon St, standpipe. At 8 :30 P.M. a hearing on the laying out of a part of Puritan Road was held. The following appeared in favor and signed the proper releasesy Robert B. Parry ' Albert E. Crawford Karl S. Skinner George G. Woodman No one appeared in opposition. Voted to make the layout and recommend the acceptance. Voted to approve the lines and grades of Waverly Road as shown on plan submitted under the Board of Survey. Voted to recommend to the Town the construction of a Garage on property now owned by the Eastern Mass. St. Railway on John St. Voted to ask the Town for authorization to collect rubbish. Voted to ask an appropriation of $750.00 to collect rubbish two times ( Spring and fall) in 1937. Voted to request the Town to authorize a bond issue for the construction of a garage. ' Voted to recommend to the Town. that abuttors on streets where sewers exist be required to connect their property within ten years from date of construction of sewer. Voted that the new machinery money be included in the general highway appropriation. ' Voted to do the painting at the pimping station with day labor. Board adjourned at 11;00 P.M.
