Bancroft, Brophy, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were present. Hearing on Waverly Road under Board of Survey at 8:30. The following appeared: Edward Lappin - (Undecided) Wm. H. Hines - Objects on account of cost Earle Eastman - Favors Melvin E. Forbes - Favors Acceptance taken under advisement. The Board met with the sub-committee of the Finance Committee relative to the Budget for 1937. Voted to proceed with the acceptance of Laneton Way as shown on plans on file. Driveways as shown on Texas Co. Plan, No. 100178-A for filling station at cor. of Main & Ash Sts. is approved, and voted not to approve drain pipe in any location within the Public Way limits. Town of Reading REPORT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ON THE LAYOUT OF LANETON WAY The Board of Public Works of the Town of Reading having determined and adjudged that common convenience and necessity require the laying out of a town way under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments, substantially in the location hereinafter described, having complied with all require- ments of law relating to notice to the owners of land thereof and of shearing thereon, and having met at the time and place appointed for such hearing and then and there heard all persons present who ' desired to be heard, have laid out as a Town way for the use of the Town, running Northerly from Longview Road, substantially as and in the location of the private way known as Laneton Way, the boundaries and measurements of said way as so laid out are as follows; The Easterly line of said Laneton Way commences on the Northerly side line of said Longview Road on the are of a curve of four hundred and twentyy-five and 44/100(1}25,41}) feet radius, and said point is S.400-51f -35"W. , a distance of fifty-nine and 95/100 (59.95 feet, measured along the chord Of said are, from a point of compound curvature marking the westerly terminus of a curveof said Longview Road of three hundred and forty-four and 66/100 (344.66) feet radius; From thence the said Easterly line runs generally westerly and northwesterly on a curve to the right with e radius of forty-one and 91/100 (41.91) feet, a length of sixty-three and 86/100 (63.86) feet to a point of compound curvature; - Thence generally northerly on a curve to the right, ' with aradius of one hundred and sixty (160.00) feet, a length of one hundred and twenty-eight and 60/100 (128.60) feet to a point of tangent; -2- Thence R. 120-31LW„ a distance of fifteen (15.00) feet to the terminus of this the said Easterly line; ' Said Easterly line runs its entire length by lands of Bessie L. McLane, Thence S. 770-29' W., still by land of said McLane a distance of forty (1}0.00) feet to the Westerly line; Thence S. 120-31' E., by land of George 0, Eaton and Frances L. Eaton, a distance of fifteen (15.00) feet to a stone bound; Thence generally southerly on a curve to the left with a radius of two hundred (200.00) feet ,by lands of said Eaton and other lands of said McLane, a length of one hundred and ten (110.00) feet to a stone bound at a point of reverse curve; Thence generally southerly on a curve to the right with a radius of one hundred sixty-three and 24/100 (163.24) feet; a length of one hundred and sixty and 88/100 (160,88) feet to a stone bound set on the said northerly side line of Longview Road on the are of the curve of four hundred twenty- five and 44/100 (425.44) feet radius. This last point mark- ing the terminus of the westerly line; ' Thence following the are of said curve of Longview Road on the radius of four hundred twenty-five and 44/100 (1}25, feet as aforesaid, and in a, generally northerly direction ) a length of one hundred eighty-one and 04/100 (181.04) feet to the point of beginning. The above described lines being more fully shown on a plan entitled "Laneton Way, Reading, Mass." Board of Public Works, Puilip Welch Superintendent, dated January 1937, said plan being a part of this description. We determine that no damages will be sustained by any person or parsons in their property by reason of the taking to be made for this improvement. All acts in connection with said laying out are done under the provision of law authorizing the assessment of better- ments and betterments to be assessed therefor.. ' This laying out so made by us we hereby report to the Town for acceptance and recommend that said way shall thereafter be known as a public town way and named Laneton Way„ and that the sum of Three Hundred Forty-two and 50/100 (~0342.50) dollars, be raised and approp- -3- riated for said laying out and for the construction_ of the said way, ' Clinton L, Bancroft Harold W.
