HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-12-11 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. December 11, 1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened , at 7:30 P. M. Messrs. Bancroft, Putnam, Brophy, Lindsay and Superintendent Welch were present. Mr. 0. 0. Ordway called in response to our request to discuss the matter of a gravel bank now owned by Mr. Ordway. Mr. Higgins and Mr.Collins of Glen Road visited the Board regarding the conditions of the street. A hearing was held on the extension of the sewer on John St. No one appeared in opposition. Mr. W. E. Harris of the West Somerville Cooperative Bank sent word to the Board that the bank had no objections. Board voted to make the extension. , Voted to loan some of the equipment at Memorial Park barn to the ': .P.A. Recreation project for use in building on Haven St. Voted to proceed with the necessary arrangements to take a drainage easement at the property of William Stone on Franklin St. Superintendent to look into various ways of drainage at Hopkins St. Voted to approve pole locations on Van Norden Rd. Howard St. and Longwood Rd. as petitioned for by the New England Tel.& Tel. Co. and the Municipal Light Board. Voted not to plow any private driveways except in extreme emergency.
