HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-11-20 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. November 20,1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. Messrs, Bancroft, Putnam, Davis, Lindsay, Brophy and Superintendent Welch were present. A letter received from Mr. Carroll regarding his gravel bank and Mr. Brophy is to investigate. Voted to insert two .articles in the warrant for the special Town meeting November 30th, 1. To transfer money from the interest account to pay for over.. draft on 1934 Chapter 90 Account. 2. To release the excess water bonds. Voted to approve pole locations on Pinevale Ave, as requested by the Municipal Light Department, also locations on Chapin AvQ.and Wends St. Voted to approve pole relocations on Cross St, as requested by the -Municipal Light Department. Voted to request the Insurance Committee to cancel the fire insurance on the Filtration Plant and to furnish this Board with a list of the insurance placed in which this Board is interested to- gether with the amounts and premiums. The Town Counsel conferred with the Board regarding a sewer connection at the plant of the Reading, Custom Laundry, Voted to eliminate all closed connections between the 'gown and private water systems, now existing, It was further voted not to allow any closed connections in , the furture.
