HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-11-06 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. November 6,1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened ' at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Bancroft, Lindsay, Brophy, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were present. An application received from Arthur S. and Jennie P.Nesmith for a granolithic sidewalk and granite curb under Chapter 83 at 93 King Street. Voted to reserve enclosed areas on various playgrounds for skating only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 to S P.M. Saturday all day, Friday and Sunday evenings until 10:00 P.M. Tuedsay and Thursday afternoons and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings until 10:00 P.M. and Sunday from 1:00 P.M.to 6:00 P .M.for hockey playing. , A , communication from Henry Carroll was referred to the Superintendent for reply. Voted to authorize the Superintendent to purchase material for one line of wells. Voted to lower drainage near Echo Avenue. Voted to authorize Superintendent to purchase miscellaneous supplies for construction of Ash St, water main; also to obtain prices on a sewer cleaning outfit. Voted not to issue a permit for a banner across Haven St. to advertise a performance at Security Hall as requested by Hugh Eames. Board adjourned at 10:30 P.M. Respectfully Submitted: ' (Signed) H.
