HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-11-03 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading, Mass. November 3,1936 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. Bancroft, Brophy, Lindsay, Davis, Putnam and Superintendent Welch were present. Mr. Charles Gormlie., Pearl St., called regarding ahockey rink at the intersection of Charles and Pearl Sts. Mr. R.A.Roberts and Frederick Smith called to inquire about the status of the drainage ditch between Salem and Pleasant Street, and to see what can be done if the land is developed for building purposes. Mrs. Charles Kissock called to obtain information about land off County Rd, and Howard St. and the possibility of constructing ' streets. Mr. George Sidebottom called regarding sidewalk on King St. at the property of Arthur Nesmith and wishes to have it repaired. Voted to authorize the Superintendent to issue a permit for a banner over the str3et providing it is not over Main St, and not attached to public property. Applications received under Chapter 83 as follows: Granolithic Sidewalk - Mildred J. Gray 34 Kingston St. Granite Curb - it " " it 11 it Granolithic Sidewalk - Muriel L. & Carleton W.Richardson 2 Virginia Rd. Voted to abate the water bill of the Reading Rubber Co. for an amount of 479.70. Voted to allow the water meter to stay in the house of Edgar ' Davis of Michelini Lane for 30 days after Nov.5, and Mr. Davis be informed of the leakage and advised to remedy the condition within the 30 days.
