HomeMy WebLinkAbout1936-09-25 Board of Public Works Minutes Reading Mass . September 25,1936 ' The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P.M. Messrs. 3ancroft, Putnam, Lindsay, Brophy, and Superin- tendent Welch were present. Paul Mich of Glen Road called regarding the grade of the street in front of his property. An application for a granolithic sidewalk and curb received from E. B. Myott, 6 Virginia Rd.. Application placed on file. A letter received from the County Commissioners asking the Town' s intentions regarding Chapter 90 for 1937. Superintendent to advise; Lowell St. $(},000. Woburn St. 4,000. Chapter 90 Maint. 1,000. Approval for the expenditure of funds under Chapter 464, Acts of 1935 received from W. F. Callahan. Application for granite curb received from Esther Keating, 22 Kingston St. , and Mrs. Harriet M. Drury, 16 John St. , and placed on file. Chapter 90 contracts for construction of Lowell and Woburn Sts, were signed. Several water liens and assessnents for sidewalks and curbing were signed. Voted to request the Finance Committee to transfer from the reserve fund the following amounts: ' 000.00 Sidewalks 200.00 Dumps 200.00 Parks -2- 9/25/36 Voted to advise the Selectmen that "New Home" signs will be removed by employees of the Board after October 19th.
